You've got an M.2 SSD in a drawer and a 2.5" SATA drive you're not ready to bin. You need both readable, fast, without hunting for the right enclosure or waiting on a 6-day shipping order from a faceless marketplace.
The Simplecom SA516 handles it. Drop in an M.2 NVMe or SATA SSD (sizes 2230 through 22110, M Key or B+M Key) and you're pulling data at up to 10Gbps over USB-C. Swap it for a 2.5" SATA HDD or SSD and you're still moving files at 6Gbps. One adapter, two drive types, no driver install, no external power brick.
A few things worth knowing before you plug in: the M.2 and SATA slots aren't simultaneous — one drive at a time. No hot-swapping either; unplug the USB cable before swapping drives. And it's 2.5" SATA only on that side, so a desktop 3.5" drive won't fit.
It's 60 × 40 × 14 mm, weighs about 37 grams, and the included USB-C to USB-A combo cable means you're not digging for a specific lead. Windows 7+, macOS 10.8+, Linux — all good. UASP and TRIM are supported out of the box, so your SSD writes stay fast and the drive lives longer.
