Laptop's got DisplayPort out. The TV or projector in the meeting room only has HDMI. Instead of hunting for a USB-C hub and a mini-DP adapter, this one cable does the job. 2 metres of gold-plated, RoHS-compliant cabling with a 20-pin DP male on one end and a standard 19-pin HDMI male on the other. Plug it in, select the right input, done. One caveat: it's passive and one-way – DisplayPort source to HDMI display only. It won't go the other direction. Check your source device carries the D++ symbol so you're not chasing a ghost signal
