Your eight-inch roller needs an 18mm bore spindle and the old one's rusting out. This hot dipped galvanised 18mm spindle drops in clean and stays put. One end is flattened to stop it spinning free — just place a galvanised flat washer between that flat face and your bracket's outer surface so neither one wears its finish off the other. You don't have to grease it. Plenty of people do anyway, and it does no harm. Get the right size before that roller starts dragging
