You need height. Whether it's a rooftop TV antenna fighting the next block of trees, a marine rig that has to clear the masthead, or a mobile setup where every centimetre of gain counts, you're stuck with a short stub that just can't do the job. This Jaycar telescopic mast extends to 4.5 metres of durable aluminium, and it comes with the base mount plus three guy wires so it actually stays put in a southerly buster. Slide it to the height you need, lock it off, bolt the base. One person can have it up before the afternoon tea. Works with multiple antennas if you're running VHF and UHF on separate booms.
