You want dark, confident marks without pressing hard enough to tear the paper. The 3B gives you that depth with a soft feel under the hand. Staedtler's super-bonded lead and special formulation keep the core from crumbling when a kid sharpens it with a claw or a student presses harder than they should. Hexagonal barrel grips comfortably and stays put on the desk. Twelve pencils, 2 mm lead, built for expressive drawing, shading, and sketch work where you need that rich black without the mess.
