Ubiquiti UniFi G3 Reader (White) – Compact IP55 Access Reader with Apple Touch Pass & Hand-Wave Exit

You need a reader that looks clean on the door, survives an Australian summer outside, and lets your team in without fumbling for a card. And it needs to work as a request-to-exit button so nobody's stuck holding the door open for a colleague.

The G3 Reader in White does all three. IP55-rated from -30 to 45 °C, so it handles the hallway heat and the outdoor splash. Unlock by NFC card, the UniFi Identity app, or Apple Touch Pass. Wave your hand for exit. It even gives you a greeting message on entry and exit if you want that small touch.

It connects over PoE to any UniFi Access Hub, so there's no separate power brick on the wall. Compact enough to sit flush on a door frame without looking like a security camera had a baby with a doorbell.
